Calorimetry

Interactive simulation of calorimetry, allowing you to explore heat exchange through heating (with adjustable flame power) and through thermal equilibrium between a sphere and a liquid, observing the evolution of temperatures, the heat exchanged, and the vaporization of the liquid as it reaches its boiling point.

Heat exchange follows Q = mcΔT for each substance, until the temperatures equalize (thermal equilibrium) or until the liquid reaches its boiling point, when part of the energy is consumed in the phase change (latent heat of vaporization) instead of raising the temperature.
